I’m pretty excited for this one. This fight is not going the distance, surely! Nothing at stake here in terms of titles or belts, but a fight between 2 of the biggest characters boxing has seen.

This is the 50th fight of both fighters’ careers, which makes the occasion that little bit more special.

Chisora is a couple of years older than Wilder, but based on their past few fights, you’d say that Wilder looked much more of a spent force than Del Boy. Chisora just keeps on surprising people.

However, Chisora hasn’t fought in over a year and based on recent interviews, he seems to be lacking the motivation and desire to fight. He has said this will be his last dance.

You certainly don’t want to come into a fight half-assed against someone who hits as hard as Deontay Wilder.

Wilder has fought more recently and added to his 42 wins by knockout he already had. He did look poor in the fights previous to that against Parker and Big Bang Zhang, but they are both very skilful boxers, and styles make fights as they say.

Chisora is a much easier fighter to hit, and I could easily see Wilder jumping on him after landing a big right hand. After which, it’s very difficult for anyone, let alone an unmotivated Chisora.

At 11/4, the value play is definitely on the Wilder knockout in my opinion.

It’s possible this could be an epic slug fest like Whyte v Chisora, similar to Wilder v Ortiz. So for my long shot, I’m going for Wilder to win after being knocked down at 12/1.

Wilder has got off the canvas against Ortiz and in the Fury fight to fight on, and I think there’s a good chance of both fighters getting knocked down in this one.

As Wilder is the slightly higher price to win after getting knocked down, I’m punting on him for my Fun Longshot Wager.

I admit both bets are a little speculative and rely on a better, fresher Wilder to be present against a tired and unmotivated Chisora, but that is possible in my opinion.

Successful betting is about getting good value odds on things that could well happen rather than punting on short prices that appear the most likely scenario. To coin a Del Boy phrase, “He who dares wins!”.

BVB – Wilder to win by knockout at 3.75

FLW – Wilder to get knocked down and win at 13.0
