My name is Brian, and I previously ran a successful betting website for over 10 years, so I have a lot of experience in sports betting and producing betting tips.
I was the creator and brains behind the BettingTools website, which has a number of tools, tricks and information to help bettors make the most of their betting and give them the best chance of making a profit.
I have created this website to reignite my passion for sports betting and to improve my writing. I have really struggled with my mental health over the last few years and sports betting is a great way for me to keep my mind busy and focussed.
When I ran BettingTools, I was so obsessed with finding a system to beat the bookies that my betting wasn’t the fun pastime it is supposed to be.
The truth is that it’s extremely difficult to beat the bookies long term, and even if you do have some success, the overconfidence in that success can lead to increasing stakes and your profit being wiped out by a downturn in performance.
It is very difficult to handle such swings with betting, which you will have even if you have a profitable system. Bookies also limit your bets when they see how good you are, so the odds are literally stacked against you from making a regular profit from the bookies. They aren’t obliged to take anyone’s bets as they are a business. That’s not to say that nobody finds a way to do it, but that it’s extremely unlikely and that the effort required is unlikely to match the payoff.
This is a truth I’ve come to accept, and I am now at a place where my betting is fun again and writing on this site forms part of that enjoyment.
I obviously still hope to find some decent winners, and a massive longshot once in a while wouldn’t go amiss, too, but ultimately, with a family now and an increasing lack of time, I want to save my attention for the big sporting events and not look to bet on anything and everything like I had previously.
My previews will focus on my first love, football and also boxing, which is a sport which is a perfect match for the excitement of sports betting.
