I’m a big fan of Arteta and I’m very excited to see them attempt this historic double. I love his passion and his desire to do well. All of his players and staff have bought into his ideas, and being nearly men was never going to be the end of the story. For me, it was only a matter of time before they got over the line.
PSG will be a tough test for them, of course, but they only just came up short against them in last year’s semi-final. Arsenal created some good chances, and if it wasn’t for Donnarumma, who has since left for Man City, Arsenal may have been the victors that day.
It’s very fine margins in finals. Luck often plays a big part, and the first goal is usually crucial.
This match could easily go either way, and when that’s the case, it makes sense to go with the higher-priced of the two teams. Therefore, my Best Value Bet is Arsenal at 2/1. They will need to win inside 90 minutes for this bet to land.
Arsenal will need to keep Dembele and Kvaratskhelia quiet, but I think they are capable of this. They may be a bit nervous, but after already bagging the Premier League trophy, the pressure is off somewhat.
I think it will be a low-scoring game, as most high-quality finals tend to be, and I can see Arsenal winning 1 or 2 goals to 0.
For my Fun Longshot Wager, I’m going for Declan Rice as Man of the Match at 10/1.
Rice put in some ridiculous performances in the Champions League latter stages last season, and he’s having another great campaign. We all know he’s a big game player, and his tackles and driving runs through the midfield will be key. 10/1 seems a good price to me.
This is not a regular market for me, but I believe the bookies use Opta stats displayed on whoscored.com, to determine who gets the man of the match award.
Enjoy and good luck!
